Kerning in MicrosoftWord! I bet most of us doesn’t know what Kerning means or does! Do dewalt tools have serial numbers. Well, Kerning is a feature in MicrosoftWord, where it adjusts the space between two individual letters for a better visual look. Say that when we are designing a Document, each Typeface font requires its own specific Kerning. This feature is very important and necessary when we are designing in a WordDocument with large Fonts. In order to use this feature just keep on reading this post below.
On the Home tab in Microsoft Word, at the bottom right corner of the Font area we locate the arrow, where if we hover on top we can see the InformationalDialog box as shown below. If we select the arrow, the Font dialog box will appear.
Microsoft Word Adjust Kerning
As shown below the Font dialog box has appeared, where it contains two tabs. The Font tab and the Advanced tab. For this post we must select the Advanced tab.
- In Word, kerning can be adjusted either automatically or manually. To change kerning automatically, perform the following steps: Select the text whose kerning you want to adjust. Word displays the Font dialog box. In Word 2007 make sure the Character Spacing tab is selected. In later versions of Word make sure the Advanced tab is.
- How do I adjust kerning in Word? You can have automatic kerning applied by turning on the “Kerning for fonts” setting in the Font dialog’s “Advanced” tab.
